Miniature Stone Paint

I am thrilled with how the miniature stone paint worked. It was easy to apply and looks great on my Victorian style dolls' house. I used it for the stone bay windows, stone window arches and the wooden quoins. It was easy to apply and the brushes wash out easily in hot water. Three coats were needed to get the full effect. The first coat looks a bit wishy washy but by the second coat you can see how good it's going to be. Make sure that you stipple each coat as you go along. Paint a small area and then stipple before it dries too much. Leave several hours before applying another coat. I bought a some special model makers stippling brushes which worked really well for the stippling (you use them dry). Don't use your best brushes for applying the stone paint as they won't be much good for anything else when you've finished. The paint needs to be stirred really well every time you have a painting session.

Good stone effect

Easy to apply and good coverage after the first coat. Used to cover a badly marked slate hearth.

Stone coating

Excellent. The only problem was that it didn't completely cover our dolls house. Not even one coat so I am about to order another pot. Bigger this time!
