Originally was going to paint a wooden fireplace surround and hearth but the surround was not best and did not think a new paint job would give me the best results. However used the undercoat and stone effect paint (black in my case) and the results were perfect. So pleased with the result. Would recommend to anyone who wants to update anything stone or wood!

The undercoat went on easily and there was enough to cover the surfaces of the fireplace fully. The sand textured paint went on easily with the roller although I had to be careful to avoid lines made by the edges of the roller. The final effect is very convincing and looks much better than the bare fire board. Very happy with it.
