Rockingham Smooth Stone

I was a tad cautious in purchasing due to applying over a shiny marble surround. Having followed the manufacturer’s guidelines of 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint I couldn’t be more happier with the seamless even finish I attained using both a brush and roller. No runs!

Fantastic Product!!

We had an existing 20+ year old Limestone fireplace surround that had discoloured over the years. It was also stained from old candle wax which we couldn't clean off. So, we decided to paint it and found stonelux on line. It has completely transformed the fireplace and it looks brand new. We're absolutely delighted with the finish.

Fireplace discovery and re-instatement

When we discovered the old fireplace during house renovations we were so excited. We quickly set about opening up the space to install a stove. However, as much as we tried we couldn’t find anything to clean up the stone. We were on the point of having the stone blasted when I discovered stonelux fireplace paint. Here are the results after two coats of primer, and three coats of Lamport with stone flecks. I used the recommended bristle brush for the application of both the primer and stone paint on the smooth surfaces, but found that an oval chalk-paint brush was better for rougher uneven surfaces with crevices. The fireplace may have lost a little bit of its depth of character, but the lighter brighter finish fits in better with the white modern decor of the renovated house. Its the first time we’ve tackled a project like this and found the application of the paint easy and we’re delighted with results.

Fireplace Stone Paint

Very good finish - needs several coats to create the stone look finish, but when completed it looks excellent and very realistic. The first couple of coats looked patchy - but once the paint cured and the coats built-up it now looks fantastic! Thanks
